Six Character Posters from Zack Snyder's 'Sucker Punch'
Young twenty-somethings with guns and lingerie should turn a few heads
Zack Snyder's upcoming World War I fantasy actioner Sucker Punch has made a bit of noise around the net recently as some magazine scans started making the rounds, but today Warner Bros. released six character banners from the film and has launched the official website giving fans a closer look at a film that looks to be a bit of a wild ride.
Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch follows Babydoll (Emily Browning) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man. Along with Browning the film stars Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino and Jon Hamm.
Sucker Punch was originally expected to be another post-conversion 2D-to-3D feature, but in a recent interview Snyder seemed to backtrack a little tellin gMTV, "They've talked about doing a conversion and there's been a lot of talk about us doing ‘Sucker Punch' in 3-D, but I'm still waiting to see."
He added, "We've looked at a bunch of conversions, so whether or not we have the time to do it right – I'm not going to do it if we don't have the time to really be meticulous with it. It's such an awesome piece of work and everyone's worked so hard to make it awesome, so I don't want to screw it up with bad 3-D."
The film is set for a March 25, 2011 release. You can check out the posters directly below or larger versions right here.

This should at least be a visual feast (and I'm not talking about the girls); Snyder's films always are. Unfortunately his films also are generally lacking in at least one of the areas of story, writing, and acting. Pretty important areas in filmmaking.
I have two examples which disprove your assessment of Snyder's film as lacking in acting talent. Jackie Earle Hayley's character of Rorshache in Watchmen and Gerard Butler's turn as King Leonidas in 300. These performances were brimming with emotion, gritty machismo and, perhaps most importantly, the made their presences known in every scene they were in and if the audience left the movie remembering one character, it was theirs.
Zach Snyder brings actual graphic novels, and original ideas which belong in graphic novels to life. He's filling a very important niche in my mind. So, maybe it's not Shakespear, at least he provides the audience with arresting visuals and memorable characters.
looks cool to me, sexy women all, except maybe jenna malone..
I agree with you Ian, about this being a visual feast. I'm thinking the girls are just going to make it THIS much better though. Will this movie be Snyder's first original movie? Or is it based on something.
No, Snyder himself has worked on this script for about six years or so. He wanted to release it after 300.
So it IS his own work?
Cheers to Emily Browning and Jena Malone! Can't wait to seem them in this film!
I don't know if going with a "The Spirit" ad campaign is going work for this movie.
Now THAT is some sexy shit right there! DAMN! Especialy Emily Browning. I'd bang THAT chick ANY DAY.
Carla Gugino is so hot. It's crazy to think that she's been around since Son in Law.
Anyone else think Cornish looks like Taylor Swift?
On a side note, I watched a bit of 300 yesterday. I forgot how corny and drawn out that movie is. I thought Watchmen was a major improvement, so hopefully Snyder keeps up with that here.
I want to touch the hynies.
