#Shrim... What is 'Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie'? Here's the Teaser Trailer

I think it has something to do with... shrim

Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie Teaser TrailerThis morning I saw several people posting the teaser trailer for Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. I had no idea what it was and just a few minutes ago received an email about it so I felt I should probably give it a look.

After watching the teaser trailer, which you can watch below, I still have no idea what it was about, but apparently it has something to do with an out of shape woman in a blue swimsuit yelling "Shrim" and a man with a long neck also yelling "Shrim" before his face is morphed onto hers at which time they collectively yell... yup... "Shrim". Here's the synopsis:

Two guys get a billion dollars to make a movie, only to watch their dream run off course... Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie is a star-studded comedy created by the prolific team of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, best known for their five seasons of "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!" which have aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Numerous celebrity cameos will be featured, as well as the beloved cast of regular characters that appear on "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!"

Along with writers/directors/stars Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, the film will feature celebrity cameos from the likes of Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, John C. Reilly, Robert Loggia, Jeff Goldblum, Will Forte, William Atherton and Erica Durance and will be available On Demand on January 27, 2012 and in theaters starting March 2, 2012 from Magnet Releasing.

Dear jesus lord in heaven, save are souls from eternal damnation.

  • Trevor

For the uninitiated, These two created "Tom goes to the Mayor" and "Tim and Eric Awesome show, great job!"

Basically they're known for the latter show, which is a surreal/bizarre sketch show. Some of their stuff is decently funny, but for the most part it's stuff like the trailer: Weird for the sake of Weird and not very funny.

  • Sampson

These two have never made me laugh once, if anything they give me a head ache because they try so damn hard to be weird and funny, and it just comes off sad

    • Josh

Well you never made me laugh once, either, but I wouldn't troll on a website if YOU made a movie.

      • will

First off trolling is normally for post count, the usage of that terms spread out of control as its gone mainstream.

I guess we can assume you like time and eric which is kind of sad since they've got maybe 1 funny joke. Ive tried to like them but they're not funny and frankly numbing the populace to real comedy.

Comedy is dead by the way, im sure you we weren't aware while giggling to fart jokes.

        • Alex

Nice grammar jackass. I'm so glad brave crusaders like you feel the need to dissuade peoples' opinions on the internet. What would we do without you?

        • Josh

Who the piss is "Time and Eric"?

And you should be a college professor, what with state of the art phrases such as "comedy is dead", and "numbing the populace".

          • Addam

Tim and Eric are awesome ...you guys is just being for a greatest retards in your buttholes mushroomhole. I'd like to feel the tip of your white mushroom, all moust and full of beautiful. Glory, love. I love you so much, and want to take you home with my Aunt Bartha.

Can't wait for this! Love tim & eric humor

  • Degenerate

These are men of genius. You fear what you do not understand.

  • Rob Bowman

I'm a little disappointed in some of these responses! The show is unabashedly odd, yes. It's strange and surreal and absurd and all other kinds of words. However, none of those are synonyms for bad! Or unfunny! To the contrary, they almost function as a new kind of Bunuel with endlessly strange people who wouldn't normally be placed in front of a camera starring in bizarre sketches. Maybe even a bit of Jodorowsky in there. Here's the catch, though: It's played for comedy and laughs. And succeeds admirably once you dial yourself in.

It's amazing stuff. Pushing the boundaries of comedy and what we consider legitimate. And they always land on brilliance, lunacy, and hilarity.

And if you don't like it, that's 'cause you don't get it. And that's okay. They said similar things about Rock n' Roll, too.

    • Ethan Everett

Oh my god! Thank you for enlightening all of us poor dumb masses. You are totally right! I dont get it cause it is apparently so clever and subtle and intriguing...you know what I am done with the sarcasm. They aren't funny. It's nonsense. Always land on brilliance, lunacy and hilarity? That's incredibly debatatle. So debatable it borders on brilliant, loony and hilarious! Look I never get down on people for liking whatever they want to like. But that snobby a-hole argument "If you don't like it, that's 'cause you don't get it" is a complete smokescreen. You like it...so you are mad I think it is stupid...therefor I must be stupid right...eat me. Go ahead watch 15 minutes of Tim and Eric...I just wont be in the room.

  • Dave

I can't stand these guys. I'm a huge comedy fan, but this sort of approach - be weird for weird's sake, throwing whatever you like at the wall - hugely undervalues the importance of "script writing" and "actual jokes".

Sorry to those that like it, but I think this is anti-comedy at it's worst: ironic hipster comedy.

    • Josh

You are a huge comedy fan? Really? I dabbled, but never fully committed myself to the genre. Good for you, though. Maybe since you are such a comedy aficionado I should go ahead and not like these two guys. They probably don't like comedy, either.

  • Dsimolke

It's a miracle these guys are getting a feature-length movie. I can't always take their stuff, but they often incorporate some great satire. I'm honestly looking forward to it. Even if only as an assault on the senses.

  • Gonsalvo Ballsack

There's funny-funny and there's weird-funny. Funny-funny is like food that's good for you -- you can eat all you want. Weird-funny is like a chocolate sundae -- it's great but, at the end of the sundae, you really don't want more and you may even be a little sick. These guys are weird-funny and they don't understand the diminishing-return phenomena that does with it.

    • Josh

You mean, like "having 'Ballsack' as a last name" funny? Oh, haha. I get it. You should do a movie.

  • joe

they're revolutionary. thats why mark cuban is producing it and it has zach and will ferrell and others.

    • Ethan Everett

Who is zach? Also, just because Will Ferril involves himself doesnt make it good. John C. Reilly does it. I love Reilly...but I do not think just cause he is involved in something it makes me enjoy...I have tried on this show. I usually just end up sitting there in audible silence watching them awkwardly stare at each other until one of them barfs diarrhea out of their mouth and the other sings a purposly terrible duet with a "probably recently homeless looking" old man in front of a green screen. Their "comedy" can be described as brain diarrhea.

  • nick rick

I had to see if it was true and I hope not I single handedly blame myself for these douches being on television I think it is because I leave my tv on at night hahaha

  • mike

If I want good sketch comedy I'll watch an episode of whitest kids you know, I need to wait for someone to show me a good sketch from the tim and eric show so I don't have to sift through all of the bad skits.

  • Strag Mielone

guys, i was just wondering if there was really a truth in all of this ? ? ?

when we do things like watch does it men thet mean to do it>??

I was sitting self other night wondering where all the script writing went in fimolgraphy how i'ts bisecally down the trailor waws bad... the movies gon b the sam way cause they use joks tht funny but keep can't. getting[] funn? alwasy to wonder what else is goin on the person in the background because in the end its just a comdy show....am i rite ? ? ? ??

  • Ryan Rose

Ike the Simpsons movie, and jackass and the athf film, this will be just like watching an episode of the show, only you are in a movie theater.

  • Speaker of Truths

    Tim and Eric > all.

If you don't get it, or are angry that it's dumb and/or weird, than either: you're trying too hard, you need to upgrade the firmware on your sense of humor.

There's a reason why they get actors more popular than themselves to appear on their show and many of whom appear often, John C. Reilly, Zach Gilifanakis(probably butchered that), Will Forte to name a few. Funny people get what they do.

It's bizarre, it's absurd, sometimes it's too bizarre. But other times their comedy borders on genius. I mean, the number of b-list niche actors they've got to play somewhat specific, recurring roles? Hysterical. In a way it's an incredibly warped, out-of-it's-mind satire on traditional TV.

    • Ethan Everett

Just because these guys are famous actors doesn't make their decision making skills perfect...fine they wanna go be wierd for 5 minutes cool. Just not funny.

    • Tony

It IS satire, totally...on modern society/speed of technological innovation/ridiculous corporate advertising (infomercials), and societal expectations. Some people seem to dismiss Tim & Eric so quickly because they don't immediately see that it's a satire. Until you understand that, it will just seem weird.

I notice that the closed-minded individuals whom also hate on other "awkward"/new- humour shows such as The Office and Family Guy will hate on T&E too, whereas people from the art world (I, myself, a music student at the Cole Conservatory of Music) really grasp onto Tim & Eric (maybe thats why theyve been able to get lots of support from famous celebrities)

      And, its just awesomely awkward.

  • Jewstice

IT'S NOT FUNNY!!!! IT'S NOT FUNNY!!!! Why whyyyyyyy???? I said its not funny so it's not funny and I won't be in the not mr funny room!!! Whhhhhhhy?! I like Cheers and the kids that aren't Mexican who hangout in a hall but you know them because that's real comedy for real white people!!!! Arrrrrgggghhh! You are all are so stupid you don't know real comedy but thanks for trying to educate me because like you know! You don't know like I know comedy because like I said I know what real comedy is like! Not this manure heap hipster spaghetti on a wall nonsense. I hate you I hate you I hateeeeee you!!!!!! I know funny god damn it!!!

Yep, that's right, it's me, Sunshine. The ever so slightly out of shape woman in a blue swimsuit yelling "Shrim" and I'd like to thank you so much for all your opinions. The movie is opening in Long Beach this weekend. All I can say to your comment is:
Rock and Roll is here to stay
I dig it to the end.
I don't care what people say,
Rock and Roll is here to stay.
So sorry if you don't get it but a lot of others seem to.
    Peace
    Sunshine

    • Jason Kuo

      I love you, Sunshine.

Thank you Jason. That's nice to hear.
    Peace

I don't get what's new or different about this movie? To me, it just looks like the same type of bad comedy that's become more popular for the past few decades, now. Belushi and others pushed the limit on silly comedy on SNL in the seventies, and ever since then, other comedians have tried to emulate their comedy routine of being funny,by being so stupid that it's just dumb. At first, several were able to successfully pull it off, but over time these routines have just become so routinely absurd that it's just not funny. And this movie has to be one of the worst attempts ever made, because it makes movies like "Dumb and Dumber" look brilliant. They may have been fun movies to make, but what you have on the screen is just people who think they can just act dumb and it'll be funny. Comedians have found success by acting dumb for centuries, but it still requires skill to pull it off, which is something these guys lack.
