Second 'This is the End' Red Band Trailer

I don't know, red band trailers are a red flag for me

I've said it before, I think red band trailers are a cry for help. R-rated movies have been sold for years without resorting to red band trailers and yet, they've become the go-to way of capturing the attention of young ADD internet click-clickers.

So, when Sony releases a second red band trailer for This is the End I can't say it gets my hopes up.

Directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the film finds Rogen starring alongside James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, David Krumholtz, Aziz Ansari, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Rihanna and Emma Watson. The story follows six friends are trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

The film hits theaters on June 14, check out the trailer below and let me know if my concerns are valid or if this one looks like a winner.

I think it looks like a lot of fun. It's probably the only comedy of the summer that I'm looking forward to (though I'm really hoping "The Heat" is good, regardless of the trailer's quality). My problem with red band trailers, however, is that they tend to spoil all the best jokes. Hopefully this isn't one of those cases.

Wow, this looks surprisingly hilarious. I've been getting tired of these guys, but I laughed several times during the trailer.

I thought 2012 was a terrible year for comedies (besides 21 Jump Street) so I'm hoping this one is good. I think it looks fantastic and was probably one of the most fun movies to shoot. This and Anchorman 2 could make 2013 a great comedy year.

Seven Psychopaths was a pretty great comedy, seen it?

I don't think red band trailers are a cry for help just because almost every R rated comedy has one this days, and not everyone is bad, a lot are, but not all of them.

As for "This is the End", I got to say, I really like the concept and all the people involved, but the trailer isn't as good as it should be. Still I love Superbad and I do like Pineapple Express so I'm still in for this, hoping they are saving the good stuff for the complete movie.

I don't understand why you see red band trailers as a cry for help. When they are released like a week before the movie comes out I can agree, but these red band trailers are coming out months in advance. Based on what ive seen This is the End has the potential to be a classic. Bringing all these talents together to play themselves in a parody of Hollywood culture is a very promising premise.

I laughed my butt off bunch of times, all the talent in this, what else could go wrong? I'm watching this June 14, mark it down.

I think this looks pretty hilarious, but then again I could just as easily be wrong. I like the idea of 'playing' themselves. Although, I did think this trailer may have used up to many of their jokes. I'll stay away from any more marketing until June.

While it's fun to see all these celebrities lampooning themselves, I can't say anything I've seen has been incredibly promising. I rarely watch trailers (maybe 4-5 per year) and I can't say these red band trailers have sold me. Then again, I'll see it anyway.

If Owen Wilson was on the list, I would be be sold. That being said, I am still pretty excited to see this one.

I did laugh a few times. Normally I despise Danny McBride, but the line "So, Hermione just stole all our shit" made me laugh pretty hard.

i like the concept and the humour was mostly good aside from the repetitious milky way bit #yawn

Oh my god..this looks hilarious. Way better than the first trailer. Definitely worth a theatre viewing.

Definitely my most anticipated comdy of 2013.

the hairless michael cera comment, made me laugh. i like these guys...i'll probably check it out.

But when will there be a trailer for what will likely be the vastly superior The World's End?
Anyways, I don't necessarily agree that red band trailers are a cry for help. Plenty of good movies have red band trailers released. I'm not gonna watch this trailer, because the first one was decent enough to get me to check it out.
