'Scream 4' Gets a Poster On a Knife's Edge
I refuse to replace the A with a 4
Dimension Films has debuted a third poster for the upcoming film Scream 4 and it's not half-bad, although I think their decision to use the number four as the "A" is just plain silly. It never ceases to annoy me when movie marketing does this, such as what appears to be the now official inclusion of the number seven in David Fincher's Se7en. The same was done for films such as Thir13en Ghosts, S1m0ne and even L4yer Cak3 tried it on occasion. Just sort of tacky if you ask me.
Scream 4 hits theaters on April 15. Check out the new poster directly below or get a larger shot of it right here.
In Scream 4, Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (played by Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.
The newest installment in the acclaimed franchise that ushered in a new wave of horror in the 1990s is written by series creator Kevin Williamson and directed by suspense master and director of the first trilogy, Wes Craven. The film stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox-Arquette, David Arquette, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Anthony Anderson, Adam Brody, Mary McDonnell, Marley Shelton, Nico Tortorella, Marielle Jaffe, Kristen Bell, Anna Paquin, Lucy Hale, Shanae Grimes, Aimee Teegarden and Brittany Robertson.

I think that the inclusion of the 4 might be an intentional parody of the aforementioned number-insertion trend.
I refuse to replace the A with 4 too. Sc-four-eam is terrible. Almost as bad as 5nal (Anal) Destination.
Sorry, that'd be Scre-four-m.
Also, that poster is pretty neat, no lie. Does nothing extremely original or anything like that but it works.
i believe se7en was the first film to do this, so i'll give them a break for being inventive.
i stand corrected. it was actually Gon3 Wi7h the W1nd, although it ended up just being a working title.
is that a joke?…
@Brad Brevet: Really? Must be a slow news day when we start debating the merits of the "4" replacing the "A" in the title of the latest Scream films. It looks fine. Sheesh
