'Scream 4' Alternate Opening
A bit grisly without the atmospheric audio bed
Scream 4 hits Blu-ray and DVD tomorrow, October 4, and although a publicist has been telling me for the last month I will be receiving a review copy, that review copy has yet to arrive, so I guess it's a mystery at this point. However, it looks like one feature included on the release will be an alternate opening, which has been uploaded to YouTube in bootlegged fashion.
I don't remember if the opening was without any kind of music before, but as presented here it's a bit grisly without the added sound effects and atmospheric music making it a bit more realistic… not to mention reeeeeally slow and boring. I pretty much fast forwarded over most of the 3:20 minute clip, but you can watch as much or little as you want directly below.

This movie is in one word AWESOME! Saw it many times in theatres! So sad it flopped… But I gotta say this opening is way better than the original :)
agree, so much better than the one showed in theatres, but it doesn´t really help to the movie as a whole: the rest of the movie is predictable, scare-free and tame and maybe the worst of all as that the creators didn´t have the guts, as Gale said in the film, to kill-off Sidney.
When you see the deleted scenes they already released on youtube you are gonna think they should've keeped that in the movie….
I remember loving the accual begining of Scream 4. Cant wait to watch it again soon.
I did like the original opening – it was campy, but it was fun enough. This one is a bit eerie, but I think that's only because it's void of music, so it just feel, strange. I like it though. I wouldn't be opposed to more scream films.
