Scott and Torn Join 'August'
One more who cares article for the night
Man, news is stiff today as what I hope will be the last uninteresting story of the night come via The Hollywood Reporter who tells us that Adam Scott and Rip Torn are set to join Josh Hartnett and Naomie Harris in August for director Austin Chick.
The flick follows an aggressive, young dot-com entrepreneur (Hartnett) in New York struggling to keep his head above water as the bottom of the market begins to fall out in the weeks leading to Sept. 11. Yup, another 9/11 movie that a lot of people will avoid just for that reason… Look at Reign Over Me, that movie is fantastic and it has done hardly a drop in box-office business compared to what it should have done considering how good it is. When movies like Premonition do better business than good movies it is just frustrating, at least it is for me.
As for this little indie, Scott will play Hartnett's brother, while Torn is their father. The film will be shot on location in New York, with principal photography to begin April 16.
