Schrieber Shredding 'Wolverine' As…
Apparently he isn't Stryker after all
CHUD has just learned that Liev Schrieber isn't plyaing Stryker as previously reported in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Instead he will play none other than Sabretooth, a role played once before in the X-Men film franchise as Tyler Mane played him in the original X-Men when he battled Wolverine and Cyclops at the Statue of Liberty.
This news now leaves open the role of Stryker, not to mention plenty others. Devin at CHUD reports rumors that "Dexter" star Michael C. Hall just might be the frontrunner for the role of Stryker, and he also reports Michelle Monaghan is at the top of the list when it comes to casting the Silver Fox, a role already rumored to be filled by Maggie Q.
So far it sounds like things are coming together quite well for this film, and hopefully director Gavin Hood can put something special together.
Wolverine is currently slated for a May 1, 2009 release.
