Universal has premiered the first Rush trailer, the new Formula-1 racing movie directed by Ron Howard and starring Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers) and Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds).

The story follows the on the track and off lives of Formula-1 race stars James Hunt (Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Bruhl) and their racing teams of McLaren and Ferrari. Olivia Wilde and Alexandra Maria Lara co-star. The script was written by Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon) and I named it one of my most anticipated films of the year and one of the year's early Oscar contenders.

Rush is currently slated for a September 20 release, which gives it a possibility for a Venice, Telluride or Toronto premiere, the two former being more likely (particularly Venice).

I have been waiting for this for quite a while and from the trailer everything looks as promised so far. I wonder what kind of liberties were taken with the facts to suit the storyline and if it does have a major impact at the end.

Looks great. Trailer did its job.

Definitely looks like it has potential. I think it will be interesting to see Hemsworth tackle something that might offer a little more meat necessarily than 'Thor'. Good as he is in that part too.

The trailer was great. I'm anticipating this movie, so I hope it's good. Ron Howard makes good films (usually).

I usually dont like to watch trailers. But I indulged in this one since I have a lot of respect for Ron Howard. This loosely reminded me of Day of Thunder.

Great director, great cast, great production values; looks splendid to me. Let's just hope the acting is as real as the racing appears to be. Still, so far, I'm liking what I'm seeing. Was Frost/Nixon, Ron Howard's last film?

    Thems the facts
