Roberts Joins 'The Dark Knight'
Yeah, this isn't very interesting...
Talk about a casting article that is only being written because it has to do with one of my most highly anticipated films, The Dark Knight, because this news is hardly earth shattering.
Word out of the Daily News is that Eric Roberts has been cast as a Mafia kingpin in the Batman Begins follow-up. Roberts is known for his role in such television shows as "Heroes" and "The L Word," but when it comes to movies he isn't exactly A-list material. However he seems to realize it as he tells the News, "I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm too overexposed to ever be a superstar, so I'm happy to be a working actor every day."
Roberts is father to Nancy Drew star Emma Roberts and brother to that other Roberts – what is her name? – oh yeah, Julia.
A small bit of other casting news came out this week that William Fichtner will have a small role in the feature as well.
The Dark Knight is currently shooting in Chicago and is set for release on July 18, 2008.
