In hindsight Marley and Me had broader family appeal. Bedtime Stories was for the kids, but Marley made a play for the adults too. #1 movie predicted correctly: 2 Weeks in a Row 1. Seven Pounds What the hell. Let's go with Will Smith, even though he's got 700 less theaters and isn't a comedy. I've heard Liar Liar Yes Man isn't nearly as bad as it looks, but that might not help quickly enough to knock off The [...]

Newsflash: The ecomomy is doomed. Also, and in a related note -- if you release terrible movies people eventually get wise. It was the perfect storm this weekend. A perfect storm of futility. #1 movie predicted correctly: 2 Week In A Row 1. The Day the Earth Stood Still What's $24m between friends? Thank God [...]

#1 movie predicted correctly: 1 Week in a Row 1. The Day the Earth Stood Still This time last year the top twelve were pulling down $150m. However, that weekend had I am Legend and Alvin and the Chipmunks. As it stands I had a tough time getting this weekend up to $100m, but Keanu [...]

Box office receipts were down exactly 50%, which I called, but I was definitely a bit off on the order. Let's break this thing down. #1 movie predicted correctly: 1 Week In A Row 1. Four Christmases The "winner" of the weekend. It's made $74m on a budget of $80m so it's still got a [...]

#1 movie predicted correctly: 0 Weeks in a Row 1. Four Christmases The box office will drop around 50% this weekend. Call it the calm after the storm. Regardless, predicting this weekend is a bit like flirting with the prettiest ugly person. Estimate: $15.0 million 2. Bolt There's a chance Bolt will win this thing. [...]
