Reeves Ready for 'Night Watchmen'
Ellroy scripted film begins in April
Is it just me or does it seem like Keanu Reeves has been off the radar for years? Personally I was one of the select few that actually enjoyed The Lake House, but even still just seeing the last name "Reeves" would have triggered Keanu about a year ago but now it took me a minute.
Nevertheless, Neo is back as Reeves is set to star in The Night Watchmen for director David Ayer.
The pic was penned by James Ellroy in which Reeves plays a cop who's always done what was needed to solve homicides and crack down on gang violence until he gets a wakeup call and decides he can no longer play the game that made him so effective.
The project had been in limbo over at Paramount for a couple years with names like Spike Lee and Oliver Stone circling it but Fox Searchlight/New Regency got their hands on it, brought on Ayer and the rest is today's news. Production begins April 30 after Ayer does a rewrite on the script. Ayer recently wrote and directed the Christian Bale starrer Harsh Times.
