Redford Up for Playing Horse
New voice added to Charlotte's Web.
It was announced today that Robert Redford will be joining the voice cast of Paramount Pictures' Charlotte's Web, the live-action/CGI version of the popular tale.
Redford will lend his vocals as Ike the arachnophobic horse. Ike panics and faints at the mere sight of Charlotte, despite being otherwise composed. With time he becomes less skittish although he never is fully comfortable around spiders.
It isn't like Redford is going to be the only big name in this feature as he joins a large cast made up of Dakota Fanning, Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, John Cleese, Steve Buscemi, Cedric the Entertainer, Reba McEntire, Kathy Bates, Thomas Haden Church and André 3000. Not a single unknown on that list.
The picture is being directed by 13 Going On 30 helmer Gary Winick for a June 23, 2006 release.
