Red Band Trailer for 'Youth in Revolt'
It's a great comedy to start off the new year
I have seen the upcoming comedy Youth in Revolt starring Michael Cera and also interviewed Cera here in Seattle last week. The film is set for a January 8 release, and I will post my review and interview that week, but I can tell you one thing, this is a really funny movie I hope gains some attention.
The movie is based on the C.D. Payne novel of the same name telling the story about the wild adventures of a teenage boy named Nick Twisp (Cera) who meets the girl of his dreams while on a family vacation and has to turn his life and the lives of all those around him upside down in order to be with her.
Today a new trailer for the film has hit the Internet and it's a red band and not safe for work trailer so know you have been warned. You can check it out directly below.

Really looking forward to this one. How did your interview go with Cera?
Nice!
I think the trailer makes it look pretty awful, but I might have to take your word for it and give it a shot.
@Kevin: Yeah, they are going for a generic approach. Basically trying to hit the juvenile buttons, but it is much better than that.
@Danny King: Just going to have to wait for that interview. :)
The book this movie is based on was hilarious. If the movie is half as funny as that, I'll be satisfied.
The book on which it is based is the single funniest work of literature I have ever read. The movie looks like it will be phenomenal as well- or at least, I hope it will be.
@Brad Brevet: You're evil, but I'll find a way. Should be interesting to see Cera in a lead role.
That looks like it has some potential. Will catch it for sure.
this looks like the movie, where cera threw a shit fit on the sets. regardless nothing new in this here, for once i would like to see him in something other than a teen comedy, where he plays a wimp, and still ends up with the girl.
this is an awesome movie for Cera. That guy has came a long way and i believe this is THE movie for him
I fucking love Michael Cera and cannot wait to see this. I've been wanting to see it since it was literally first announced.
What I'm really psyched for is the Arrested Development movie. That has potential to be one of the greatest comedies of all time.
@ddurden33: Well he half plays a wimp and half plays a "bad ass".
Just saw an early screening of this last night and for most of the film it's pretty much Michael Cera being Michael Cera, but I was very impressed with his Francois performance. At least that small part of the film was something different for him.
Overall, the film was pretty much expected. I laughed a good amount and it was definitely better than the atrocious Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.
