Old people can still blow stuff up

Summit has debuted the first trailer for the continuation of the geriatric hitman franchise Red 2 starring Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byung Hun Lee. Dean Parisot (Fun with Dick and Jane) directs.

This time around retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses (Willis) and friends reunite to track down a missing portable nuclear device. The mission takes them to Paris, London and Moscow and I don't think we should expect logic to play much of a role.

I do find it curious that while I expect A Good Day to Die Hard will make note of Bruce Willis' age as John McClane, Red 2 will use it as the punchline. Not exactly a genius-level observation on my part, but an observation nonetheless.

Red 2 will hit theaters on August 2. Check out the trailer below.

This looks like it could be very funny. I really liked the first one. Excellent cast with the addition of Hopkins.

Looked better than the first one. That said, I don't remember the first one, which says a lot about it

It's always something to do with a nuclear device that could destroy the world. We need something new.

I hated the first one, so I see no reason to see this.

The first RED was exactly what I wanted it to be... an enjoyable, light action film with appealing characters played by actors having fun with it. The sequel looks like more of it, so I'm on board.
