The New York Times has put up an article containing several reviews of Mel Gibson's controversial Passion of the Christ film and it is quite a good read.

If you are making a movie about the world's best-selling story, you have to live up to a lot of expectations. But this is no excuse for lame flashbacks and an unnecessary amount of blood and violence.
