Variety brings word Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson have both joined the cast of Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans as the faces of the gods begin to take shape.

Fiennes will play Hades, the lord of the underworld, while Neeson will play the all powerful Zeus. The two join already cast Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation), Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) and Alexa Davalos (whom I happen to be watching at this very moment in Chronicles of Riddick).

Worthington is toplining the Greek-god epic as Perseus, following his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda. Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay wrote the script.

Mikkelsen is playing Draco, a skilled fighter and leader of the Praetorian Guard that accompanies Perseus. Davalos is Andromeda, the captured princess, and Arterton is Io, who is instrumental in bringing the winged horse Pegasus to Perseus.

Neeson's casting marks his first project following the tragic death of his wife Natasha Richardson. He is said to be attached to Steven Spielberg's Lincoln in the title role should the film ever get off the ground and recently finished Chloe expected some time in 2010.

As for Fiennes Variety reports a ton of new projects including an uncredited cameo in Nanny McPhee 2 with Susanna White directing and potentially starring in a 1970s set comedy called The Men at the Pru. He also has his role as Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter franchise with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II beginning production in the fall and he plans to direct Coriolanus based on William Shakespeare's Roman tragedy before returning to the set.

Finally, Warner Bros. has already set a March 26, 2010 release date for Clash of the Titans.

Nice… Letterier's 'Hulk' although crappy in the second half had some bombastic action … these big names certainly raise the anticipation bars … should give THOR a run for its money in 2010

wondeful news. Ralph is just awesome as an actor. Clash of the Titans is a great epic and i love it, but it kinda needs an update (special effects).

Liam Neeson as Zeus AND Lincoln? That's too awesome. And Fiennes couldn't be better cast as the god of the underworld. I was worried about Davalos at first, but I think it was her who came out in Defiance earlier this year with Daniel Craig. If that was her, I think she's up for it. Have only seen Gemma Arterton in black tar, so don't know if she's any good. And I am looking foward to seeing Worthington in Terminator: Salvation. We'll see how it all pans out, but so far, I think this is one that I'm really, really looking forward to.
