I wasn't too keen on making four small articles for these next four bits of news so here it all is at once as Variety and The Hollywood Reporter are each carrying a couple of small news stories worth mentioning.

First off The Hollywood Reporter announced that four actors have been set to supply the voices for Imagi Services upcoming computer-animated movie Cat Tale. The cast will include Sean Astin as Rover, a cat who grows up in Dogtown by accident and returns to Catopolis to find his roots, Elisha Cuthbert as Cleo, Rover's love interest, who also is sought after by Simon (Stanley Tucci), a ruthless cat-box-litter exec. Alan Cumming is set to play Newton, Rover's guide and friend in Catopolis.

Next comes word from Variety that The Mummy director Stephen Sommers is ready to write and direct the remake of the 1951 sci-fi film When Worlds Collide for Paramount Pictures. Scripting will begin immediately. In the original, scientists discover that another planet is veering dangerously close to Earth, and they make plans for a small group of humans to leave the planet before the inevitable deadly collision.

Variety comes to us again with word that singer Beyonce Knowles is in negotiations to join the Bill Condon directed feature Dreamgirls over at DreamWorks. The film is an adaptation of the Broadway hit that's a thinly veiled story of the rise of Diana Ross and the Supremes.

And finally The Hollywood Reporter lets us know that Kate Winslet is in negotiations to star in Little Children for New Line Cinema. The role would find Winslet as Sarah in the adaptation of the Tom Perrotta novel. Todd Field is set to direct the film set in a suburban town where perfect parents rear perfect children by day and surf Internet porn and have affairs by night. Winslet's character is a mother who has a fling with a stay-at-home dad.
