A budget of $40 million. Hugh Jackman. Christian Bale. Michael Caine. David Bowie. Christopher Nolan. Yes, every single one of those items deserves their own sentence, but there is something missing… a leading lady, but The Hollywood Reporter seems to have a name for us.
Yup, that sexy little gal that seems to be attaching her name to every role in Hollywood is in negotiations to join the cast of Christopher Nolan's The Prestige, a film which begins in 1878, follows the rivalry between two stage magicians who battle one another for trade secrets. Johansson will play a magician's assistant named Olivia who is sent to spy on the competition.
Production is expected to begin in January 2006.
