Pair of late-to-the-gamers look pretty good

I am expecting screeners for Yari Film Group's Nothing but the Truth and What Doesn't Kill You some time next week so I can't tell you if these films are good or not, but I think What Doesn't Kill You, starring Mark Ruffalo, Ethan Hawke and Amanda Peet looks pretty good based on the trailer, and outside of the impressive trailer for Nothing but the Truth Kate Beckinsale has been getting some bonafide Oscar buzz for her performance. So who knows, maybe there is a bit of award opportunity for these two, but even if that doesn't work out they look like a pair of decent flicks.

Yari has sent over the brand new posters for both films, which you can check out below and if you want to check out larger versions just click on the poster of your choice to browse the gallery.

What Doesn't Kill You hits theaters on December 12 and Nothing but the Truth will be in New York theaters on December 17 and theaters in Los Angeles on December 19 and I assume will expand in early 2009.

What Doesn't Kill You centers on two friends, Mark Ruffalo (Brian) and Ethan Hawke (Paulie), who fall under sway to organized crime boss Pat Kelly (played by Goodman) and gets them into all kinds of trouble. Nothing but the Truth features Kate Beckinsale as a political journalist who outs a covert CIA agent (Vera Farmiga) and when she refuses to divulge her source she gets tossed in jail.

Definitely interested in What Doesn't Kill You.

I saw Cadillac Records and it was pretty decent and I went in with low expectations. It's about time there was a decent movie directed by a Black Woman. Jeffrey Wright was amazing as usual and Beyonce wasn't bad either.

The first one looks like a bad Photshop job, but the second cover is interesting enough.

  4. I was the extras casting director for "What Doesn't Kill You" and this was the most intense 4 weeks of my life shooting this movie with this all star cast and director!
