POSTER: Closing the Ring
Will a Barton movie ever get a large scale release?
I am not a huge fan of Mischa Barton, I have made this clear time and again so I won't dwell on the matter since I know it upsets her groupies. Instead I will offer up a new poster that just happened into my Inbox for Mischa's next movie Closing the Ring. The pic is directed by none other than Richard Attenborough and also stars Shirley MacLaine, Christopher Plummer, Brenda Fricker, Pete Postlethwaite and Neve Campbell.
The story begins when a U.S. B-17 crashes near Belfast, a dying gunner asks a local to return his ring to his girlfriend in America. Half a century later, a man finds the ring, learns its history and tracks down the girlfriend. MacLaine and Barton play the woman in 1993 and 1943, respectively.
The one unfortunate thing for this film is that it already screened at the Berlin International Film Festival in February and was not picked up. IMDB lists it as being released in Spain in October and then in Australia in February 2008, but it doesn't sound like its chances of seeing a "real" release in North America are good. Either way, here is the poster.
