Poster Debut for 'The Hangover 2'
I hope they keep the trailer spoilers to a minimum
Last week I saw the short teaser trailer (watch it to the right) for The Hangover Part II in front of my Sucker Punch screening and I must say the combination of music, images and just the sheer hope it would match the comedy of the first one put a smile on my face. While the first film doesn't really hold up as well the second time around (the length really hurts it upon repeated viewings), it was still a great film the first time I saw it.
I also think they'd be foolish to release a second trailer giving away any of the gags in the film, the teaser was spot on and actually reminded me a little of the text-only trailer I made for The Dark Knight back in '07 when all they needed to do was give the audiences a reminder as to what was on the horizon instead of give away everything the film had to offer. I still relish in the fact I never watched a single trailer for that film before seeing it. You can watch my version of what I felt it should have been here if you weren't a reader back then.
Of course, like then, Warner Bros. is already working hard on a trailer to spoil some of the film's hopeful comedy, but it seems they are sticking with the same grimy motif started in that teaser with the new poster they just debuted. I've added it just below and you can get a larger look right here. The Hangover Part II hits theaters on May 26.
In The Hangover Part II, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) travel to exotic Thailand for Stu's wedding. After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don't always go as planned. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can't even be imagined.

@Brad Brevet: I completely agree with you. I wish I had never seen the trailer to the first Hangover – though it was still (for me anyway) the funniest movie of the past couple of years, I can't help but think that it would have been even funnier had I not already heard half of the jokes.
I am going to try my hardest to not watch any trailers for this film: other than the teaser I saw in theaters of course. At the screening of Sucker Punch the audience's excitement was palpable as everyone slowly began to realize that the trailer was in fact the teaser for Hangover II.
Thems the facts
A big problem with the original The Hangover trailer is that it completely ruined the ending (well it could have for others, I personally did not notice). In the trailer they show a quick cut of Doug tackling Phil on the roof.
Brad thanks to you, I only watch a trailer for any movie once now, so as not to ruin the movie's freshness, and I gotta say it makes a big difference for me.
I stopped watching trailers altogether and it's the best. Everyone should do it. Especially if you're a movie nerd, you know what's coming out and you know what you're going to watch – there's no reason to watch them. I still watch the occasional teaser, like the one for Hangover 2. The original cast is back and they're in Bangkok. It's all I need to know.
Yeah, if you know you are going to see a movie no matter what, avoiding the trailer is a no brainer. I have the luxury of knowing I am going to see pretty much every film so it's a bit different for me, but if you can do it I definitely recommend it.
That monkeys gonna add some laughs…
"What do monkey's dream of when they take a little monkey snooze? – Do they dream of giant bananas or King Kong falling off that roof?" – Ed Elms…go nuts :)
Looks like Barbossa's monkey walked off the set of On Stranger Tides and ended up with these guys.
I hope Justin Bartha ( Doug) goes missing again… i mean it looks like that is happening since he is not in the poster , or trailer. Does he even show up on the trip? I hope this lives up to the comic genius that was the Hangover.
