Plummer Sets Out for THE NEW WORLD
Christopher Plummer (The Sound of Music, A Beautiful Mind) has signed on to star in Terrence Malick's The New World for New Line Cinema. The film is set against the backdrop of 17th century America in the nascent Jamestown, Va., settlement where the culture of European explorers collided with that of Native Americans. It focuses on the relationship between explorer John Smith and young Indian princess Pocahontas. Plummer joins a cast which includes Colin Farrell and Christopher Newport.
