'Pirates' Sequel Goes Fat
Hong Kong action star Show Yun-Fat joins cast.
Yahoo! News has posted an article via AFP saying that Hong Kong action star Chow Yun-Fat is joining the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3. The report goes on to say that Chow will play the famous 15th century Chinese pirate Cheung Po Tsai for the second and third installments of the film.
Yun-Fat will be joining Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Keira Knightley and the aging Rolling Stone Keith Richards who will be playing Captain Jack Sparrow's father.
Chow's wife, Jasmin Chan Wui-nin, said that the Pirate's producer and director contacted Chow's management company in the US two months ago and director Gore Verbinski even flew to Hong Kong last week to discuss the screenplay.
Chan also said, "The director was very sincere about it and specially flew to Hong Kong and discuss the script… but we cannot talk about the details until we sign the contract."
