Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl Movie ReviewSwashbucklin' is taken to new heights once Captain Jack Sparrow takes to the wheel. Check to the starboard and back to port as you get ready to sit down and enjoy The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.

For the roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp), the crystalline waters of the Caribbean, like the high seas the world over, present a vast playground where adventure and mystery abound. But Jack's idyllic life capsizes after his nemesis, the wily Captain Barbossa (Rush), steals his ship, the Black Pearl, and later attacks the town of Port Royal, kidnapping the Governor's beautiful daughter, Elizabeth Swann (Knightley). Elizabeth's childhood friend, Will Turner (Bloom), after being rescued by Swann as a boy must reach inside him to join Sparrow and face his pirate roots to rescue the woman he loves.

Though a Disney movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, is packed with what makes for good action. Explosions, sword fights, and even bombs in bellies can be found to tickle the fancy, but alas this movie doesn't fall short on special effects.

By the light of the moon the crew of the cursed Black Pearl are turned to immortal skeletons paying their life sentence for the cursed treasure they stole many years ago. In several scenes the cast is morphed from bones to skin and back again without a change of camera view, it is only a wonder what movies may have been like years ago with this kind of technology, maybe Mothra would have stood a better chance against Godzilla if it wasn't for those cursed strings.

Nevertheless, Pirates of the Caribbean is sure to make a run for the top spot this weekend at the box office drawing fans of all Disney lovers, and scaring the kids a bit as the famous theme park ride is brought to life.

Don't wait to see this flick, grab some schillings and make for the docks and reserve your seat to see what may be the best movie of the summer.
