New Pictures, Poster and Trailer for the Upcoming 'Footloose' Remake
Loose, footloose kick off your Sunday shoes
Paramount decided today was the day they were going to reveal unveil all of their Footloose related goods and they are clearly targeting teens infatuated with young Hollywood as they have decided MTV's Hollywood Crush would be the place where they would debut the film's first trailer.
Directed by Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow), this is the helmer's first film since Black Snake Moan in 2006. He did direct an episode of "The Shield" as well as the pilot for "Terriers" but this is his first time back on the big screen in five years and it is certainly a departure from his first two films.
Footloose is a remake of the 1984 Kevin Bacon feature in which a family moves to a small midwestern town with strict moral beliefs, such as a ban on rock music and dancing. Ren MacCormack (played by newcomer Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont's local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing. Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister’s troubled daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the process. Miles Teller and Andie MacDowell co-star in the film which is set for an October 14 release.

Ahhh crap… in this day in age every time i see another dance movie, I just think of the amount of teenage girls going on about how good it is even when the movie sucks. At least this one doesn't look half as bad as most of the street dancing fare we've been subjected to over the past five years, I hope they use the Kenny Loggins song for a major part and not just some sly nod to the original like in that opening sequence of the trailer.
I grew up watching Footloose with Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Chris Penn. This version really does nothing for me.
I think if you update the movie so that it uses the hip hop dancing of the modern age, you lose your audience when you call it Footloose. It's a great title for an 80's movie, but seems completely out of place here. Even though it seems to be practically shot for shot, except for more Step Up dancing.
meh
Oh god this looks awful.
Looks terrible. Especially the part with the train haha.
It's official. They are out of ideas. They are just going to keep making sequels and remakes to every movie already out there.
another stupid remake. seriously… does creativity and ingenuity still exist in Hollywood? gimme a break!

That is not Footloose. That's Step Up 4
Don't want more of these? Then don't pay to see them.
