Phoenix is 'Without Remorse'
Another Clancy novel getting some adaptation time.
Back in January of this year we learned that none other than John Singleton was going to be helming the adaptation of the Tom Clancy novel "Without Remorse", since then we haven't heard squat… That is, until today as LatinoReview has scored quite the bit of scoopage.
According to our Latin friends to the east none other than Joaquin Phoenix may be the one to fill the role of lead character John Kelly for the flick. A former Navy SEAL and CIA operative John Kelly, code-named Mr. Clark. Clark is known for his cold-blooded and efficient work ethic and this story shows how an ordinary man crossed the lines of justice and morality to become the CIA legend Mr. Clark.

She's not a bad actress, but she's not the best either. I think she is very good in The OC, but I don't think she is going to be good as Supergirl.. But hey, maybe not.. We'll just have to wait and see. Who do you think should play Supergirl?
Doesn't anyone remember the disaster that was Supergirl: The Movie????? Helen Slater and a very sad-looking Peter O'Toole. Yeesh! I saw that piece in the theatre as a kid (hey, not my fault). Easily one of the worst atrocities Hollywood ever put upon the movie-going public.
Now, if they MUST make this piece, she's gotta be a little slutty…you know, for the kids. Howza bout Tara Reid? How great would it be if she showed up late to the bank robberies completely wasted…"he he…did I miss something…? Ew, gotta wedgie…" Vomits in Lois Lane's hair, passes out mid-flight and create craters in the middle of the city…You can show the relationship side with the real Supes. In fact, you can turn this into a superhero Rain Man. Supes would be the Tom Cruise part and Reid can play the Hoffman role. Ah…to dream.
In all honesty I don't think anyone should play it… at least not in a feature film. Go ahead and make a television series with Supergirl, fans would eat it up like they did Buffy, but not a feature film. Remember Catwoman? I have a feeling Supergirl would be along the same lines.
Interesting choice, but of course I'm all excited now. Joaquin Phoenix is probably perfect for this role (or will be by the time filming starts, I'm sure). Could be a very good or a very bad thing, but it had better happen. Dash my hopes, Paramount, and there'll be hell to pay.
