Phillip Noyce Will Direct 'Mixed Blood'
Sounds like a film right up his alley
Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games) has signed on to direct Mixed Blood according to The Hollywood Reporter with Samuel L. Jackson aboard in a supporting capacity.
The film is based on Roger Smith's novel of the same name, which is set in South Africa and centers on an American fugitive trying to protect his family who's drawn into a world of murderers, kidnappers and corrupt cops. Jackson would play a good detective who goes by the moniker of Disaster Zondi. Kelly Masterson (Before the Devil Knows You're Dead) adapted the script.
The film would mark a return to South Africa for the director who last directed the South African-based apartheid thriller Catch a Fire in 2006.
Noyce is currently directing Angelina Jolie in Salt for Columbia Pictures and is set for a 2010 release.

This is the man who directed one of my favorite films of all times, "Rabbit-Proof Fence."
