Pena, Faris and Liotta Join Rogen in 'Observe and Report'
Guess what... not one mention of Judd Apatow
This has got to be the first article ever printed by either The Hollywood Reporter or Variety in which a movie starring Seth Rogen does not also include the name Judd Apatow. It's amazing, it's as if Rogen is actually a separate human being from Apatow and makes decisions all by himself.
The film in reference is the previously announced Observe and Report in which Jody Hill will direct Rogen as Ronnie Barnhardt, a deluded, self-important head of mall security who squares off in a turf war against local cops. Joining Rogen are Anna Faris, Michael Pena, Ray Liotta and Jesse Plemons.
Faris plays a salesgirl at the mall whom Ronnie lusts after, while Pena is Ronnie's right-hand man at mall security.
Liotta, who recently signed with WMA, will acts as Ronnie's nemesis, a police detective. Plemons plays another guard under Ronnie's purview.
Filming begins this week.
