Paramount Picks Up 'Jersey Dukes'
Comedy script finds its way to Paramount.
The unscripted comedy Jersey Dukes was picked up by Paramount Pictures in a high six-figure deal.
The film will be scripted by Fred Wolf (Without a Paddle, Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star) and will be produced by "Saturday Night Live" creator Lorne Michaels.
The movie will be a romantic comedy involving a New Jersey mob boss who sends a crew over to England to check on his daughter's impending wedding to a royal. The mobsters discover that England is ripe for mob expansion, especially once they are offered help by some dukes and duchesses in need of money to hang on to their country estate.
