Paramount is going the red band route with the latest Pain & Gain trailer and it's a long one, running over three minutes.

The film stars Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson as a couple of criminal bodybuilders involved in an extortion ring and a kidnapping plot based on a 1999 Miami New Times article.

Along with Wahlberg and Johnson, the movie co-stars Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Anthony Mackie, Tony Shalhoub, Bar Paly, Ken Jeong, Tony Plana and Rebel Wilson and, of course, is directed by Michael Bay.

Pain and Gain is set to hit theaters on April 26, give the red band trailer a watch directly below. And, by the way, the picture above is one of five new pictures I just added to the gallery right here.

I assumed this would be PG-13.

Really? Did you watch the first trailer? That made it look pretty R rated to me.

I watched it. I guess I thought it would be PG-13 because of Michael Bay.

I had no idea this was a comedy! The first trailer made it look like it would be a drama with a couple comedic moments, but this trailer makes it look like a straight up comedy! Looks hilarious, can't wait to see it!

It looks a lot better than the green band trailer (I laughed it loud at Rebel Wilson's moments, and liked the *69 joke) but I'll still probably wait for DVD. It seems like the sort of movie that could go from great to annoying quickly.

Why is it strange that your excited for this?

      • http://www.twitter.com/GregDinskisk GregDinskisk

Because it's a Michael Bay movie...

Micheal Bay has made some pretty good movies.

To each his/her own. Out of his filmography, I have enjoyed the first Transformers movie by him... and that's it. That's why I'm surprised I'm interested in it.

    This movie looks plain fun

Looks way better than the first trailer, I laughed a lot in this one. Can't wait for this. The cast looks great: Wahlberg, The Rock, Mackie, Rebel Wilson, Ed Harris & Shalhoub. Michael Bay may not be a talented director but he sure does entertain me. This looks like it'll entertain me, can't wait.

I wish that it was going to be PG-13 so I could see it in theaters. I guess I'll try to find a movie to buy a ticket to so that I can sneak in, because I really want to see it.

You can come with me. But only as long as you buy popcorn.

Why don't you just get one of your parents to go with you?

  • http://www.twitter.com/GregDinskisk GregDinskisk

I really wish that at the end Wahlberg shouted at the kid, "DO YOU EVEN BENCH!?!??!" I was waiting for that line throughout the whole trailer...

  • Stephen

Looks great! Really excited for this!

  • Winchester

    That actually does look entertaining.

Looks really entertaining, but the whole movie will be a failure if they don't have the line "Do you even lift, bro?!"

i thought it looked ok, the comedy was a little too 'zany' for me with the whole wrong mercedes thing and zapping the man unconscious but its still on my list to see

I just love that Michael Bay is making Michael Bay-movies, That sounds weird, but he is most definitely flexing his auteur muscles here, while someone like JJ Abrams is trying so hard to be Speilberg/Nolan/Lucas. These days the big-budget hollywood movies are either the yearly Marvel fluff or a Nolan-rip-off.'

I can respect Bay for staying true to his senses, even though he always gets criticized for it.

Stupid MPAA. Really wanted to see this. They should just make your parents buy the tickets for you and then let you in.
