| I liked an Adam McKay movie! Seriously, this feels like a big deal to me considering so many champion Anchorman and Talladega Nights, and neither really did anything for me. I can only assume this means no one will like The Other Guys as much as I did, but I don't think that will be the case, this movie is just too funny to dislike. Some may feel it's a bit too long or say the comedy wears off by the end, but I had a blast with this flick and I hope you do too. This film is rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content, language, violence and some drug material. | |

| Damn. I liked Step Up 2 the Streets and was hoping for the effect to wear on with Step Up 3D, but while the 3D is used quite well and looks rather good, this film is just a mess when it comes to figuring itself out. Two leads with storylines that simply fade off into the distance gives this film zero direction other than to do whatever it can to get from one dance scene to the next. Considering that's pretty much the overall goal I guess it succeeded in that sense, but as a movie it fails. This film is rated PG-13 for brief strong language. | |

| The Disappearance of Alice Creed |

| As soon as I hit publish on this story I'm going to sit down with the screener of this that just arrived earlier today. I have heard a lot of good things about this film, including some critics that have already gone to see it three times (too bad Seattle doesn't get the same screening attention as New York and L.A.). I've heard this is the film that proves Gemma Arterton can act so my fingers are crossed, but I remain wary as history tells me otherwise. It's only opening in 12 theaters this weekend, but I believe you can find it On Demand, at Amazon and on the Playstation Network. However, I looked for it on Amazon and couldn't find it. Other than that I have no additional information on where to find it. My apologies for that. This film is rated R for violent content, pervasive language and some sexuality/nudity. | |

| This could've been a great movie, but the safe storytelling gets in the way. There's way too much voice over and the music decisions turn this into an hour and 40 minute trailer that spells everything out for you along the way. Sorry, pass on this one. | Flipped is the new film from Rob Reiner (Stand by Me) and it's getting some solid buzz around it. It's only opening in 45 theaters this weekend, and I won't be seeing it until next Thursday so I can't tell you what to expect, but apparently it's worth a once over. This film is rated PG for language and some thematic material. | |

| This is the latest film from Joel Schumacher and it isn't getting the most glowing of reviews. In fact, people are being rather brutal toward this film. I haven't been offered the chance to see it yet so I can't say one way or the other, but if any of you have seen it or do see it, perhaps share in the comments what you thought and let others know if they should even bother. | Yet another one I haven't seen, and hasn't even been screened in Seattle yet, though this one looks intriguing. The film is set in 1982 during the first Lebanon War and follows a single tank and paratrooper platoon dispatched to search a hostile town. Sony Classics picked the film up almost a year ago, why they felt now was the right time to release it I don't know, but I am interested in giving it a watch. This film is rated R for disturbing bloody war violence, language including sexual references, and some nudity. | |

| Cairo Time is a film I'm told is quite good. It premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year and had a screening of which I missed here at the Seattle Film Festival this year. This film is rated PG for mild thematic elements and smoking. | |

Flipped has good buzz? The reviews are alarmingly unimpressive as of this point.
Saw Alice Creed in France, very surprisingly good. Especially for a first feature film. And Gemma Arterton was pretty good, it surely wasn't her normal role of just pure eye candy.
