'Once' Helmer Buys a 'Town House'
I will definitely catch this one
One of the great things that happens when you find a small movie that not many people saw but you absolutely love is that it automatically creates interest in whatever those involved do next. In my case this year that film was Once, written and directed by John Carney and now we learn that Carney has been attached to a new film penned by Doug Wright, Town House.
The story revolves around the son of a dead rock legend who has managed to live as a recluse by slowly selling off his dad's memorabilia. But he runs out of things to sell and is forced to sell the townhouse his father left him. The imminent sale forces the man to come to terms with himself and his role as a father to a teenage son.
Filming is expected to begin in January 2008 and will shoot on the East Coast. Wright penned the script based on a novel by Tish Cohen.
