Not much at all to tell you about today. However, there is a pretty big deal going on right now for the first four seasons of HBO's "The Wire". You can buy them for the next couple of hours for just $95.49, which is $54.50 off the regular price. If you are interested click here, if not check out the small selection of new stuff coming out this week.

South Park – The Complete Eleventh Season
I finished watching this just a day ago and this article here may need to serve as my review since there isn't a ton to say. I think by now you either know you like "South Park" or you hate it. I am actually surprised, and happy, the show has stayed on the air this long and this eleventh season has some pretty good stuff in it, and as always, there are the mini commentaries from Trey Parker and Matt Stone on each episode. The highlights have got to be "Cartman Sucks" which is an episode in which Cartman takes a picture of himself with Butters' penis in his mouth (it was supposed to be funny). The "Fantastic Easter Special" which mimics the stupidity of "The Da Vinci Code" in trying to explain why we color eggs and have an Easter bunny on the Hallmark holiday. "Night of the Living Homeless" was a pretty good homage to Dawn of the Dead and "More Crap" was a fantastic comparison to the stupidity on display in King of Kong. The three-part episode Imaginationland is okay (especially how Parker and Stone made Jesus a part of Imaginationland) and "Guitar Queer-o" was pretty damn funny as I pointed out yesterday. Personally, I love this show in nice small doses such as this. Paramount didn't send me the tenth season so it had been about two years since I had watched "South Park" and getting it all in one big chunk is rather enjoyable.

Prison Break – The Complete Third Season
This one just arrived on my doorstep today. So, that means I have had absolutely no time to even open up the cellophane wrapper, but I will be giving it a watch even though I do not really like this show one bit. Sure, it works to pass the time, but it is so ridiculous and stupid I find that by the time I am halfway through the season I am wondering why I am watching it, but also realize I am too deep into it to give up. It's quite a conundrum. I just thought they blew their load the first season when a show called "Prison Break" ended with a prison break. I also had a major problem with the whole way the story started, but what can ya do? People like it, so here is the third season, and it's also available on Blu-ray.

xXx: State of the Union
Recently a lot of people have been hating on this movie and back in my more tolerant years before I fell victim to watching trash on a daily basis this film didn't bother me all that much. Sure, it isn't any good, but I didn't have much of a problem with it back in the day. I do wonder why Sony is pushing it as a Blu-ray release though, it isn't as if it is going to gain the new format any more attention now that $26 million box-office bust is now in high-definition.

The Art of War II: Betrayal
When Wesley Snipes isn't paying his taxes and is evading the IRS he is making direct-to-DVD sequels to a 2000 film that made $30 million at the box-office, which turns out to be half of its $60 million budget. Why make this film? I really have no answer for that. I do know what the film is about:

When Agent Neil Shaw (Wesley Snipes) comes out of hiding to avenge his former mentor's murder, he winds up on the trail of betrayal and lethal corruption. Under the charge of his friend and Senatorial candidate, his mission is to set things straight. But when more people turn up dead, Shaw realizes that he's been framed. Now he's letting the fists fly where they may to get to the bottom of an assassination conspiracy that everyone thinks he's behind. It's time to turn up the political heat and enjoy the action of the martial arts master!

I also know you can watch the trailer right here, but that is just about all I know. I was offered the DVD for review, but with items such as "The Shield" season six, "Heroes" season two and "House" season four in the offing as well as tons of Blu-rays there just wasn't time. Plus, I am just about to give you my review of another crappy sequel from a box-office bust, The Scorpion King 2, and I finally finished watching it and oh boy is it bad.

Smart People
I have this Blu-ray and should have the review up today or tomorrow. I haven't had a chance to watch it just yet, but I am looking forward to checking it out. It stars Dennis Quaid, Thomas Haden Church, Sarah Jessica Parker and Ellen Page and despite its 48% RottenTomatoes score I am still interested in checking it out. Apparently the film follows a straight and narrow professor (Quaid) who falls in love with a former student (Parker). Then the professor's freeloading brother (Church) and daughter (Page) add to the chaos of his once predictable life. The cast is what interests me, not the cliche storyline. Cheers!

Here is a movie I will see if they send it to me or if it ever makes it to the top of my NetFlix queue. It's not that I don't want to see it, it's just that I don't really care if I see it. Stephen Chow makes some great movies. I loved Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer wasn't all that bad either. CJ7 looks like a little kid film and while those can be fun it just isn't something I am normally looking to watch.
