Fuqua's 'Olympus' scores an R

Latest MPAA Ratings: BULLETIN NO: 2259

It looks like Antoine Fuqua may be delivering a hard-nosed takeover of the White House with Olympus Has Fallen which received an R rating from the MPAA today for strong violence and language throughout. I have to believe Roland Emmerich's White House Down will go the PG-13 route so at least this is one thing that will help differentiate the two.

The rest of today's ratings are rather tame with a PG-13 for The Last Exorcism Part II and ratings for Susanne Bier's Love is All You Need and Thanks for Sharing.

Here is the complete batch of latest MPAA ratings from Bulletin #2259.

R rating has me more excited for Olympus Has Fallen, but I was already looking forward to it to begin with.

The R rating for Olympus Has Fallen is shocking. More interested in it now

Saw the Olympus preview and got very excited to see it, I forget, which did they say had the better script. It's nice to see more r rated fare this year it seems, but will moviegoers support this or will studios go back to forcing pg-13's again

R for 'Olympus Has Fallen'. That's honestly really suprising. It looked really generic when I first saw the trailer, but it still looked fun as hell. Maybe the R rating means they've managed something original and unique here. My prediction is that this will be better than 'White House Down', Roland Emerich's film with Channing Tatum and Maggie Gyllenhaal

Looks like we have our first NC-17 of the year with "Lucky Bastard". Anybody know what this is about?
