Watch the 'Mission: Impossible 4' Teaser Trailer Now
You ready for Ethan Hunt's next adventure?

Paramount has just sent over the official teaser trailer for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol on the heels of the shoddy French bootleg that garnered so much attention over the weekend. Tom Cruise returns to his Ethan Hunt character popularized by the previous three installments with this fourth entry produced by J.J. Abrams and directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles) who's making his live action debut.
I have also received the first synopsis for the film, which goes like this:
The IMF is shut down when it's implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his rogue new team (Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Simon Pegg) must go undercover to clear their organization's name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this.
The trailer will likely give you a few more clues as to what to expect, especially in terms of stunt work as the action from Dubai's Burj Khalifa is clearly a focal point late in this teaser.
If you plan on catching Transformers: Dark of the Moon in theaters this week you will see the trailer then, but for now check it out directly below and I've also added the 23 images from the film to our gallery, which you can browse right here.
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is set to hit theaters on December 16 and along with Cruise stars Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Vladimir Mashkov, Michael Nyqvist, Josh Holloway, Simon Pegg, Lea Seydoux and Anil Kapoor.

Sick
Insane. That is one fantastic trailer, Paramount.
Nice!
[THIS COMMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM SCREAM 4.]
Considering all the buzz around Jeremy Renner supposedly replacing Tom Cruise, I'm starting to get the weird feeling they may pull a Scream 4 on us and make him the villain in a last-minute twist. Just a thought…
I'm hoping they kill him off in the opening sequence, just like Emilio.
Hated the second movie, but the third one was bad ass! that was the end of emilio's career too wasn't it? He didn't really make anything bad he just dissapeared, in the credits here as well.
Awesome!
Okay, now this looks like the kind of balls to wall intensity filled action blockbuster that should be released during the summer. This looks like the kind of popcorn flick that makes an audience leave their brain at the door and not regret it while saying fuck yeah during the most spectacle filled moments.
Fingers crossed* this is good
I can't believe they went with a plot where Cruise is considered a traitor/fugitive again. Between this series, Quantum of Solace, and the Bourne series I'm pretty sick of agents on the run from their own governments.
I suppose it's a consequence of there not being a superpower to safely serve as the villains to spy against these days.
Sorry, retarded teaser. Abrams said the film feels unmistakably Brad Bird. Why not show that in the teaser? Hope the full trailer will be better.
Looks really good, now I'm really looking forward to this one.
Wow. That looks fantastic.
that looks fantastic! one or two shots of Renner had me do a double take as i thought it was craig from solace or something.. but i like the look of it and i never went to a MI movie for its story anyway… why cant this have released over the transformers turd!
It looks incredible. I love the Mission: Impossible films, and this one looks extremely exciting to me.
I liked it more when it was shitty video in French. Seems the same plot over and over. It's a shame.
They chose to use a lot of similar imagery that worked very well on previous M:I films, such as Cruise thrown forward by an explosion, slow-motion profile shots in a gala setting, and tall heights as a key element in the action.
The package works with Cruise as the star, but going forward, at this point in time, I don't think Jeremy Renner has the star power to carry a megabudget film on his own.
WOW! What a great trailer. When the guy says: "your mission should you choose to accept it.." I got freakin goose bumps. This looks like an awesome blockbuster action flick. Its good to see Tom Cruise back to doing what he does best. I can't wait for Christmas.
Thems the facts
Looks good to me! I can't believe Brad Bird directed this. Thats really cool.
its funny how tom cruise is older than brad pitt and looks so much younger, i know there is a lot of make up on, but still his wife looks older than him these days, the power of scientology is on his side, sick trailer BTW, could have done w/o the cheesy rap song.
Looks pretty good; the rap soundtrack was terrible though. I'm still wondering how such a summerish movie will play at Christmastime, especially since the last one didn't do all that well.
It'll definitely display whether Tom Cruise's image was irreparably damaged by his actions and outspoken Scientology beliefs from a few years back. I found the last one to be serviceable, but forgettable… Still it had pretty good reviews and yet did the least business of the series, likely due to premiering right after his various controversies. Valkyrie and Knight and Day failed to light the box office on fire afterwards. I'm curious to see if there is a ceiling for Cruise's films now.
I WILL MOST DEFINITELY Watch this!!!!! FINALLY MI4!! this looks very promising!!
I sowre I remember reading somewhere that Ving Rhames is not in this one.
Wonderful. Now I have a headache at 7:45 in the morning.
Yeah looks good, it just looks generic with some now cliched mission impossible climbing stunt.
Although some elements of this look great (Wilkenson, Renner) I wish they would go back to what made the TV series and the original film sooooo great!
What was so great about the first film? The opening act and climax are brilliantly conceived and constructed, but the second act is boring, most likely because of the multiple writers' struggles to get a finished script before its impeding production.
Don't think it looks great. I thought the trailer for MI3 was one of the best action trailers in a long time but this is just very generic and I really didn't think the choice of music helped much.
This looks FUCKIN EPIC!!!!!! Balls to the Walls, just how Action should be. The Eminem track added to the intensity and grit of the trailer. Plus, I LOVE Tom Wilkinson, and I'm willing to see anything he's in. The Burj Kahlifa shots at the end made me do a double take. Tom Cruise is INSANE!!
Wow. December literally can't get here fast enough. I don't want to even think about how many times I will rewatch that movie
Oh yeah, I'm on board for some fun and frolics with this one.
Is that the Kremlin being all exploded up?
