NOTE: I just realized this post, which I scheduled for July 26, never posted. However, I wrote it and it is somewhat newsworthy so I figured I would just post it now.

Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac hits theaters on Christmas Day in Denmark while domestic distributor, Magnolia Pictures, has yet to set a U.S. release date, but the marketing continues on as today we have the above, not safe for work picture (via Vulture) of stars Stacy Martin and Shia LaBeouf from the film along with a new clip, which I've included at the bottom of this post.

The clip and image come from the second chapter of the film titled "Jerome". Vulture gives us the following description:

"Love is just lust with jealousy added"

Though love is a shallow feeling in the eyes of the cynical nymphomaniac, young Joe is met by forces penetrating her armoured defences.

His name is Jerôme.

For a bit of added clarity, Martin plays the film's lead character Joe at a young age. Joe is a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac and will be played in large part by Charlotte Gainsbourg in subsequent chapters in the film as it follows her journey after being found beaten up in an alley by Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård), an old, charming bachelor who cares for her and listens to her recount the story of her life as detailed in eight, filmed chapters.

Along with the names already mentioned, the cast also includes Jamie Bell, Connie Nielsen, Mia Goth, Jens Albinus, Severin von Hoensbroech, Peter Gilberg Cotton, Nicolas Bro, Tabea Tarbiat, Janine Romanowski, Jesper Christensen, Tania Carlin, Felicity Gilbert and Shanti Roney.

Despite renouncing lustful thoughts, Von Trier is one of my favourite directors so i shall force myself to watch this whilst stabbing myself with forks #NotReally

LaBeouf actually looks very good in his role. I'm impressed.

What's up with LaBeouf's accent, is he trying to be South African or something? I have my doubts about this film; however, I'm willing to give it a shot. Although, it must be noted that Antichrist really disappointed me.

    Thems the facts

It's great that LeBeouf is broadening out but this looks lame.

I am actually intrigued with this story. It reminds me a bit of Shame. I think the sex plays more of a "supporting role". While the back story of 'why' and 'what now' are the main players.
I imagine that there will be a toned down american version released for the MPAA governing body. I hate to see that though. Id rather them release it as NC 17.
