Variety reports that Marcus Nispel, director of the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, has set up a pitch for a John Jarell penned script entitled "Subteranean" at Disney-based Beacon Pictures.

The movie is being developed for Nispel to direct and is set beneath the city of New York and is described as a sci-fi thriller in a similar vein to "Aliens" that centers on what is discovered in a subterranean area and how it could impact mankind.
