Nicole Kidman Went Method for Urination Scene in 'The Paperboy'

COMMENTS

This is a whole different kind of method acting

Nicole Kidman no stunt pee in The PaperboyAfter yesterday's nearly two-minute exploration of a massive one shot from Martin Scorsese's Hugo, today we get a different kind of close-up look at movie magic. Well, I don't exactly have any visuals per se, but in this case you might not want any.

As I noted in my review of The Paperboy from Cannes, there is a moment in the film where Nicole Kidman's inmate loving, white trash sex kitten character is forced to pee on Zac Efron's character after he's stung multiple times by jellyfish around the face and his upper body. I wrote, "Kidman is certainly a sight, but not one to fawn over, and if her character's stupidity doesn't cause for disgust, the moment we watch her pee on Jack's face after he's stung by a jellyfish most likely will."

So where does the magic come in? Well, in an interview with Deadline it's revealed that when Kidman's character yells, "If anyone is gonna pee on him, it's gonna be me!" at a trio of girls suggesting they urinate on the wounds she wasn't kidding. There was no "stunt pee" used notes Deadline's Pete Hammond.

Kidman says of the scene, "Yes, I did the scene. That was what [director Lee Daniels] wanted. It was in the script. And it's pretty out there. I mean I love Zac. He's such a great guy and let me just say I am glad it was him. I feel safe with Zac and hopefully he feels safe with me. Oh my God I can't believe it's all over Twitter. Of course it would be all over Twitter."

When Kidman says she can't believe "it's all over Twitter" at that moment she's referring to the mentioning of the scene, but until now I'm not sure anyone realized she actually urinated on Efron. Talk about giving your all for your craft.

The Paperboy does not yet have a release date and also stars Matthew McConaughey, John Cusack, David Oyelowo and Macy Gray To read my review from this year's Cannes Film Festival click here.

And to think that just a few months ago Michael Fassbender needed to emphasize in interviews that he actually urinated on camera in Shame. Talk about upping the ante.

Wow, shocking that it was method. Kudos to Zac to agreeing to it -- no way Will smith would allow that.....

    Hello?

    What do we have here?

Remember, by the time you feel thirsty, you're already dehydrated!

I think that's awesome and I hope they show everything! I want to see the stream coming right out of her pretty little coochie. There's been enough movies showing the male organ actually peeing on film that were passed with an R-rating (such as Jackass 3D, Ridicule, and The Loss of Sexual Innocence),why shouldn't we see a beautiful woman pee onscreen ? Nicole Kidman is a goddess and I'm sure there are lots of guys who would love to watch her pee and find it very erotic.....me included! The scene has already generated millions of dollars worth of free publicity and I hope they don't chicken out, by cheating us with an obscured view or not letting us see her female part actually doing the deed. As long as it shows everything close-up and you actually see the stream coming out of her vagina, then I will buy tickets to this in the theatres at least two or three times, just for that scene alone. Plus, I'll buy the DVD.

Nicole Kidman could pee on me anytime she wants. I would give anything for this godess to come to the lesbian side
