Nichols Beaming Up to 'Star Trek'
The names keep piling up
Ain't It Cool News is speculating that Rachel Nichols, star of this weekend's thriller P2, will be playing Janice Rand as she let's the Toronto Sun that she has joined the cast of Star Trek for director J.J. Abrams.
Nichols told the site, "I'm very restricted on what I'm allowed to say, but yes, there's a good chance you'll see my shining face in the new Star Trek … My mom even e-mailed me about it because she saw it (online) and I hadn't told her yet. There's a lot of buzz about it, but honestly, I don't even know the name of my character."
As the "Sun" points out, Nichols played a villain in the final season of "Alias", produced by Abrams, which follows suit in the director's propensity to make his friends keep busy. Just look at Greg Grunberg's career.
