New Poster for Danny Boyle's 'Trance' Plus a Domestic Release Date

Coming to theaters on April 5

Fox Searchlight has officially announced an April 5 release date for Danny Boyle's Trance, which is already set to hit UK theaters a week earlier on March 27.

The film stars James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel and Rosario Dawson with McAvoy playing Simon, an assistant at an auction house who masterminds an art heist and teams up with a gang of thieves, but suffers a blow to the head and wakes up with amnesia.

Simon is the only one who knows where the painting's location is and after his continued failure to remember, the gang begins to suspect duplicity on his part and hires a female hypnotist to get into his brain.

This is really a weird and bold poster, and that makes the movie even more interesting actually.

I don't really like that poster, but that won't prevent from seeing this film.

    Wow, that looks pretty cool.

Having stayed away from any clips or trailers on this, makes me really curious about it. Not really sure what Boyle was going for with this poster, if in fact he had any say in it.

I think the poster has got a glitch gremlin inside...

Love it. Really conveys a sense of dysfunction that compliments the amnesia angle. Not to mention it's very eye catching and unconventional.

Also, when's the last time a poster credited 3 different films a director has made?

    Pretty dope in my opinion.
