New Poster for 'Anna Karenina'

COMMENTS

You can't ask why about love

Focus Features has just released the official US poster for Joe Wright's Anna Karenina starring Keira Knightley, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jude Law and Matthew Macfadyen. Yeah, look at that, it's Aaron Taylor-Johnson now as he recently married his Nowhere Boy director Sam Taylor-Wood.

The film will be released in select theaters on November 9 and expand nationwide throughout the year and likely into the next. Based on Leo Tolstoy's novel of the same name, the story unfolds in late-19th-century Russia high-society exploring the passion between adulterers and the bond between a mother and her children. As Anna (Knightley) questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends and community.

The first trailer debuted recently and you can watch it right here and you can check out the new poster directly below.

It goes with the trailer which makes it seem like a Peter Greenaway film—or better, actually, a Baz Luhrman film. I think that made me much more interested in seeing it.

That is a truly HORRIBLE tagline... I quite liked the trailer, despite Keira's pouting, so will probably give this a go.
Still, 'You can't ask why about love' - ugh, Tolstoy is probably vomiting in his grave...
