New Poster for 'Angels and Demons' Debuts
All while the Vatican considers boycotting the filmed adaptation
Sony Pictures debuted the new poster for Angels and Demons via Twitter today all while Catholics wait for the Vatican's decision as to whether or not they will be urged to shun the Da Vinci Code prequel, which was banned from filming in the Holy See last summer. The Vatican has already said they "cannot approve" of the film, but an official boycott has yet to be called.
Angels and Demons is based on "The Da Vinci Code" author Dan Brown's novel of the same name and features Tom Hanks reprising his role as Harvard religious expert Robert Langdon as he investigates evidence of the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati which has a goal to blow up the Vatican.
The film hits theaters on May 15. You can check out the poster directly below and our gallery of 12 images can be found right here along with additional information on the film and trailers.

Kinda simple, am I missing something?
@joe: i dont know if you read the books but the cardinals played a very important role in the book. Im guessing that is why some men are in red gounds.
Simplistic, yet effective. Here's hoping this is miles better than "The Da Vinci Code".
@Garrett: I know the book is miles better, I couldn't even finish reading "The Da Vinci Code" it was so bad.
"NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!"
Is it just me? Reminds me too much of Cardinal Fang and Co.! XD
Ew. His hair looks nast.
@Brad: I find it laughable that you think "we" Catholics are awaiting word on whether or not the Vatican bans this film. Do you think we only live our lives according to every word spoken by the Pope? He's only a man. He's fallable.
@the jackall: kind of like how Americans do towards Obama now…
