New Picture from Pixar's 'Up' Announcing Its Debut at Cannes
French will be the first to fly... Up
The picture above arrived along with the announcement Disney and Pixar's next joint venture Up will be the Opening Ceremony film of the 62nd Festival de Cannes in Disney Digital 3-D on Wednesday May 13th, 2009 prior to its official domestic release on Friday, May 29.
Up is directed by Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc.) and is described as a comedy adventure in which 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen (Ed Asner) fulfils his dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America, only to discover that he has brought with him his biggest nightmare, a 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer stowaway.
