ashley greene's HOT! :D
C'mon, don't you start using the term "torture porn," too. :( It's a lazy term that someone (I'm not sure who) invented around the time of "Hostel" simply because the movie grossed them out. I've watched Hostel and Saw, and I know that people simply would not get off on them. There's a whole lot worse they could go for. In fact, I wouldn't even label Saw and Hostel as bad movies. I enjoyed them both. And rottentomatoes puts them at 46% and 58%, respectively (yes, "Hostel" almost got a Fresh rating on the tomatometer), which is good for horror films.
So unless you start calling "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" action porn, or "Twilight" romance porn, or "Bedtime Stories" family porn, or "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" comedy porn, etc., don't use the phrase "torture porn."
@JM:
That last paragraph is so wrong, I don't even know where to begin. Do you know what porn means?
In my opinion, whomever has seen "Hostel Parts I and II" or "Saw I, II, III, IV, V, VI" and calls it "torture porn" just doesn't get it, like a certain part of their mind doesn't understand what there watching.
I mean, only like 1/2 an hour to 45 minutes of the movie actually involves the traps/torture setups. The rest is about the characters backstories (20 to 30 minutes), the message of people not appreciating life, and the whol etrying to figure out what is going on, who is where, and the whole cop story (which usually takes up 20 to 30 minutes). Only III was much longer and it involved more of the message and an extensive surgery on Jigsaw (which is in my opinion the best).
The "torture" parts are meant to be shocking and scary and added entertainment to what otherwise would just be a drama story with a shooting every once and a while. If anything "Saw" and "Hostel" should be labeled as "survival" or "physchological" horror or horror/mystery because that is exactly what's going on. It's a huge blend of all these but it certainly is not "torture porn."
Really, whomever started that should never be aloud to watch another movie ever again. I mean if "Saw" is really torture porn and I'm the one who doesn't get it, then "Casino Royale" should also be torture porn when Bond is being hit with a whip in the chair.
I for one wish there were others who can actually do it like these two. So far all we've gotten are dull movies like "Captivity" "Turistas (ok I quess)" and maybe two or three others I didn't pay attention too.
