New Photos from 'Les Miserables' Show Off the Cast

A batch of new photos from Tom Hooper's Les Miserables have arrived featuring new looks at a large portion of the ensemble cast which includes Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried and Eddie Redmayne. It also gives us a look at some new faces including Samantha Barks as Eponine and Isabelle Allen as Cosette. The only big name from the cast not featured is Helena Bonham Carter.

As I've said before, I have actually never seen an adaptation of Les Mis, be it on the stage or screen so unless I remedy that before the film hits theaters on December 14 this may be my first go with Victor Hugo's epic tale.

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Miserables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption--a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
