Superman is all mad 'n' stuff

The latest TV spot for Man of Steel continues the trend of focusing on one character, this time it's Kevin Costner that offers up some words of wisdom for his adopted Kryptonian son, Clark (Henry Cavill), as alien ships blast the Earth with blue lazer beams (that's new) and Superman gets all ROARRRR as he zips around the atmosphere and into Lois Lane's (Amy Adams) arms.

This is probably the most footage I have watched of this film yet and I like the look and the tonal vibe I'm getting and I really am hoping this thing delivers. With Christopher Nolan behind the scenes it certainly gives me a greater level of comfort.

Give it a watch below.

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

Henry Cavill plays Superman in director Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel." The film also stars Amy Adams as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, and Laurence Fishburne as her editor-in-chief, Perry White. Starring as Clark Kent's adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, are Diane Lane and Kevin Costner.

Squaring off against the superhero are two other surviving Kryptonians, the villainous General Zod, played by Michael Shannon, and Faora, Zod's evil partner, played by Antje Traue. Also from Superman's native Krypton are Lara Lor-Van, Superman's mother, played by Ayelet Zurer, and Superman's father, Jor-El, portrayed by Russell Crowe. Rounding out the cast are Harry Lennix as U.S. military man General Swanwick, as well as Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy.

Yeah that blue laser kind of disappoints me. They gotta outlaw blue lasers in superhero movies for now on. It was in Iron Man, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The avengers. Come on guys!

Hopefully this is the first good blockbuster this year. So far, Jack the Giant Slayer, Oz, Iron Man 3, and from what iv been hearing even Star Trek are disappointing. Hopefully this is breath of fresh air.

I really hope this thing delivers as well. I have yet to see anything that I have loved so far this year, and Iron Man 3 was an underwhelming way to begin the summer movie season.
