New 'Jupiter Ascending' Trailer and Posters

Yup, looks like a Wachowski film and maybe a little Golden Compass?

Warner Bros. and Village RoadShow have premiered a brand new trailer and the first two posters for the Wachowskis Jupiter Ascending starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis set to hit theaters on July 18.

The sci-fi epic looks like exactly something you'd expect from Andy and Lana Wachowski and I have to give it to WB for continuing to spend money and place their faith in the sibling filmmakers. While they haven't really impressed me with their last two efforts -- Speed Racer and Cloud Atlas -- I can appreciate the ambition on display.

Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning toilets and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along -- her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

Channing Tatum (Magic Mike) and Mila Kunis (Oz The Great and Powerful) lead an international cast that also includes Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), Eddie Redmayne (Les Misérables), Douglas Booth (LOL), Tuppence Middleton (TV's "The Lady Vanishes"), Doona Bae (Cloud Atlas), James D'Arcy (Hitchcock) and Tim Pigott-Smith (Alice in Wonderland).

      Where does it say that?

I'll definitely be seeing this. Loved Cloud Atlas and it looks quite stellar.

These trailers are pretty weak, and a lot of the footage makes the movie look like a big bowl of CGI nonsense. But I'll probably see this because the Wachowski's are very interesting filmmakers, and I'm hoping there's more to this movie than is being advertised.

Some of the costume and production design... as well as the 1920s gold-leaf embellishments on the poster... remind me a great deal of John Carter. That said I am looking forward to this.

OMFG, this is just like The Matrix redux! Only with the girl, and a funny-elf-looking Channing Tatum, and the new Star Wars vibe from the space and otherworldly scenes... But perhaps this is just the siblings being ironic on the matter of Hollywood's love to big budget remakes Wachowskis' style? In this case they are lucky, not everyone can afford to be so expensively ironic....

Looks like a lot of fun- I'll watch anything the Wachowskis churn out. They may not all be winners, but they are always unique.

      Yah, he looks great alright!!
Im willing to entertain the thought that the Wachowski’s will entertain me.

'Cloud Atlas' was one of my favourites of 2012 so although (if the budget is true, which I expect it is) I believe this will never make back enough money for WB, I'm totally in to go and see this the once at least.

But it could be utter piffle equally based on the trailer.

This is going to be a visual feast. Looking forward to it.

I'm excited for this. I'm surprised the studio would let them do this, but with Jupiter Ascending, Noah, and Guardians of the Galaxy are studios taking more risks now? I hope so.
