Just above is a look at Lightning McQueen (voice by Owen Wilson) given the turntable treatment in promotion of Disney/Pixar's Cars 2, just one of two big name animated sequels releasing this year.

Along with the above video Disney and Pixar have released eight character photos from the film featuring Lightning McQueen, Mack (voiced by John Ratzenberger), Sarge (voiced by Paul Dooley), Fillmore, Guido (voiced by Guido Quaroni) and Luigi (voiced by Tony Shalhoub). Just below is a compilation of the eight new images but you can click the image or right here for larger looks.

Of the characters listed the only one I'm unsure of the voice talent is Fillmore as he was voiced by the late George Carlin in the first film.

Next we have the first official still from Dreamworks's Kung Fu Panda 2 (a.k.a. Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom) as well as a new piece of banner art.

You can get a larger look at the above image as well as the banner art in the Kung Fu Panda 2 gallery right here.

Kung Fu Panda 2 hits theaters on May 27 and Cars 2 arrives a month later on June 24.

Let's hope both of these films deliver! The originals were solid!

Cars gets a lot of hate, but it really was a fun and solid film. Yes, I agree that Wall-E, the Toy Stories, Nemo, Ratatouille, ALL trump it, but by no means does it deserve the kind of loathing it gets. Every upcoming Pixar film is going to be measured with Pixars cream of the crop which is inevitable, but one must realize that those films should also be judged on its own.

I couldnt agree with you a lot more, the people who hate the movie cars have no soul and should get run over by a car or they simply dont like automobiles, it doesnt deserve this kind of loathing. Im a HUGE car fanatic and i really love this movie, it deserves a sequel because it is so damn good.

Will Doc Hudson (The late Paul Newman's character) return in Cars 2? If not, I'm hoping there'll be some touching homage of sorts and his character not be lazily written out.

Doc Hudson won't be on Cars 2, but Owen Wilson said during an interview session about the project.."There a nice homage to Paul in it."

I'm glad they didn't try and recast the role. I think this is the fitting tribute to honor Paul Newman rather than trying to shoehorn another actor-even if he does a great job-to keep the role alive. I'm confident the homage to Doc Hudson in Cars 2 will be poignant and great.

I actually prefer Cars to some of the other Pixar animation. I'm not entirely sure why it seems to get trampled on so much either. But, somehow it's viewed as the runt of the litter. Oh well.

For me, it's just as engaging as the others and for me, actually much better overall than a couple of them. I'm looking forward to Cars 2.

Speaking as a father of two boys (6 & 4 years old), and judging by the relentless merchandising that is still ongoing after the first film.

Pixar know what they are doing, Ratatouille and Wall-E have never been watched again after initial purchase(great as i think they are). Cars is never out the DVD player and the toys are lined up infront as it plays. As a Disney kids film for kids it works better than any other.
