Murphy is 'Blaze'
Silly story for a silly actor.
Since I am not too much of a comic book guy I assumed this was going to be some comic book adaptation when I first started reading that Eddie Murphy is expected to play the title character in Johnny Blaze for DreamWorks and Imagine Entertainment, but apparently it is a bit more Murphy than that.
The toned down Murphy who seems to have a flair for more childish films than his once raucous affairs will play an old-school rapper who retires and becomes a private eye who solves crimes within the hip-hop world.
DreamWorks and Imagine have set Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, writers of Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, to pen the screenplay.
