In Footloose, Ren McCormick (Bacon) and his family move from Chicago to a small midwestern town with strict moral beliefs, such as a ban on rock music and dancing. Unable to live without dancing, and with the senior prom around the corner, Ren and his best friend Willard (Penn), along with the minister's daughter, Ariel (Singer) devise a plan to put an end to the ban and bring some spirit into the town.
